On July 10, 2024, a delegation from the Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) led by Mr. Gao Shang Hua - Vice President of ABC Bank Guangxi Branch visited and had a working session with Agribank. Representatives of Agribank's leaders, Deputy General Director Doan Ngoc Luu and leaders of a number of Head Office departments attended the meeting to receive the ABC delegation.

At the meeting, Agribank Deputy General Director Doan Ngoc Luu expressed his interest and emphasized the highlights of Agribank's operations, highly appreciating the similarities in the operations of the two banks, especially in terms of their mission in developing agriculture and rural areas. Deputy General Director Doan Ngoc Luu also emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two banks.

Agribank is one of the biggest banks in Vietnam, with a wide network and plays an important role in the field of agriculture and rural development, is always highly appreciated by international organizations and has cooperative relationships with many big correspondent banks in the world.

Currently, Agribank is maintaining agency relationships with 48 banks in the Chinese market, of which ABC is one of the largest and long-standing partners in China. Regarding border payment activities, Agribank is the first commercial bank in Vietnam to implement this activity with countries sharing borders, maintaining 33 border accounts at 7 border branches with 10 credit institutions in border areas. The cross-border payment cooperation between Agribank and ABC has been taking place since 1997. To date, seven branches of Agribank have signed cross-border payment cooperation agreements with branches of ABC in Yunnan and Guangxi provinces.

Mr. Gao Shang Gua, Vice President of ABC Bank, Guangxi Province Branch, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome of Agribank, and affirmed that the good relationship between the two banks has had more than 20 years of cooperation and development, and will continue to be bolstered.

The leaders of the two banks expressed their desire to continue promoting cooperation between the two sides in areas such as international payments and border payments, foreign exchange trading, product and service development and willingness to expand cooperation through bilateral meetings between senior leaders and strategic departments of both sides.

The visit of ABC Bank Guangxi Branch to Agribank not only demonstrated the long-term and sustainable cooperation between the two sides but also opened up many new cooperation opportunities. Agribank and ABC Bank committed to continue to strengthen cooperation, share experiences and develop new products and services to improve business performance as well as customer experience.
