Agribank expands scope and increases funding for preferential credit program in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries
15/05/2025
In alignment with the Government’s direction and the State Bank of Vietnam’s guidance to effectively implement the VND 100 trillion preferential credit program supporting the agricultural sector, Agribank has officially expanded the scope and scale of its credit program. The bank has raised its funding to VND 20 trillion and broadened the scope to include not only forestry and fisheries but also agriculture.
Key highlights:
- Total Credit Scale: Agribank has increased the program's scale to VND 20 trillion, broken down as:
- Up to VND 5 trillion for agriculture
- Up to VND 3.5 trillion for forestry
- Up to VND 11.5 trillion for fisheries
Eligible borrowers:
- Individuals and legal entities engaged in investment projects or production and business plans in the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors.
- Activities include: production, collection, consumption, processing, preservation, and integrated/mixed operations in those fields.
- Preferential Interest Rates:
- Interest rates are at least 1.0–2.0% per year lower than Agribank’s average lending rates for loans with the same term and collateral.
Agribank was the first credit institution to implement a preferential credit program for forestry and fisheries, initially allocating VND 3 trillion. In response to growing demand, Agribank expanded the program to VND 13 trillion in 2024. Following the Government’s directive to widen the VND 100 trillion program, Agribank has now added the agriculture sector to the scope and increased the scale to VND 20 trillion.
With its extensive network of over 2,300 branches and transaction offices across the country, Agribank is committed to providing timely and efficient credit support for production and business activities in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries. This is part of Agribank’s ongoing effort to implement national policies on sustainable agricultural and rural development.
