Agribank: enhancing the banking experience through the adoption of innovative technologies and digital solutions

On January 13th, at the Dien Hong Hall of the National Assembly, the Secretariat of Communist Party of Vietnam held a National conference on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
Agribank, along with major banks and technology companies, participated in the exhibition showcasing the applications and advancements in technology, innovation, and digital transformation within the framework of the conference.
As a pioneering bank in implementing the policies of the Government and the State Bank, Agribank has made significant strides on the path of digital transformation, particularly as the legal framework becomes increasingly refined, creating favorable conditions for the bank's robust development. Within the framework of the National Conference on the breakthrough development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, Agribank has participated in an exhibition showcasing products and services that incorporate the most recent scientific and technological developments.
With a vision to advance retail banking services on the foundation of information technology, Agribank has concentrated on robustly developing electronic banking services and implementing technological solutions in line with Industry 4.0. Agribank is undertaking steps towards the establishment of digital banking and the realization of digital transformation. Notably, Agribank consistently aligns itself with governmental initiatives and the broader economy, acting as a bridge to actualize policies such as "Financial Inclusion," "National Digital Transformation," and "Enhancing the Application of Civil Data for Electronic Identification and Verification in the Banking Sector."
Agribank has implemented Plan 01 in collaboration with the banking sector and the Ministry of Public Security within the framework of the Government's Project 06. Agribank has actively gathered and refined customer data, established connections with the National Population Database, and cooperated with the Ministry of Public Security to implement electronic verification services via VNeID on the Agribank Plus application. These solutions not only enhance security but also contribute significantly to the realization of digital transformation objectives.
Currently, Agribank's ecosystem comprises 220 products and services tailored to meet the diverse needs of all customer segments. The initiative to promote digital finance aims to extend the reach of digital banking experiences to remote areas and distant islands. Agribank currently serves nearly 20 million customers with deposit accounts, approximately 16 million users of ATM cards, and around 13 million customers using payment services through the Mobile Banking channel, specifically the Agribank Plus application. The proportion of transactions conducted through digital channels at Agribank exceeds 96%, significantly promoting cashless payments.
