Agribank financing – A pillar of support for the business community
15/07/2026
In recent years, alongside its positive business performance, Agribank has continued to affirm its role as a key commercial bank in financing the development of agriculture, farmers and rural areas. Outstanding loans to these sectors have exceeded VND 1.32 quadrillion, accounting for 64.9% of Agribank’s total outstanding loans.
Agribank has effectively implemented the guidelines and policies of the Party, the State and the State Bank of Vietnam in support of production and business activities. Agribank has worked alongside businesses and individuals to overcome difficulties, contributing to macroeconomic stability, inflation control, economic growth and social welfare.
Agribank’s network currently extends nationwide, from north to south, including islands and remote and far-flung areas. Agribank has more than 2,200 transaction points, 68 mobile banking units operating from specialised vehicles and, notably, a network of nearly 60,000 lending groups with close to one million members and total outstanding loans of more than VND 215 trillion. Agribank is also actively advancing ESG across its operations. Agribank currently serves nearly 39,000 green credit customers, with total outstanding loans exceeding VND 28 trillion.
In addition to serving as a “pillar of support” for agriculture, farmers and rural areas by channelling capital to businesses and individuals in rural communities, Agribank prioritises supporting the development of businesses engaged in production and commercial activities.
Most recently, in June 2026, Agribank launched the preferential lending programme “Mechanisation – Enhancing Agricultural Value”, with a total credit allocation of VND 2 trillion, to support individuals investing in machinery and equipment for agricultural production.
The programme is available until 14 May 2027 and is intended for individual customers seeking loans to purchase brand-new machinery and equipment included in Agribank’s prescribed list for agricultural mechanisation. Customers may obtain short-, medium- or long-term loans under individual loan agreements, covering up to 100% of their capital needs. Preferential interest rates start from 5.8% per annum.
Also in June, Agribank allocated VND 5 trillion to implement the medium- and long-term production and business lending programme for individual customers, “Substantial Long-Term Capital – Sustainable Business”. The programme offers attractive incentives on interest rates and service fees, together with flexible financial solutions.
The programme is designed to support individual customers in developing their production and business activities, expanding their operations, investing in facilities, machinery and equipment, and improving business efficiency.
Beyond providing financing, Agribank supports businesses through comprehensive financial solutions, including advisory services on production and business plans, the restructuring of repayment schedules, interest rate reductions and simplified lending procedures. This approach helps businesses not only overcome immediate difficulties but also strengthen their adaptability and pursue sustainable development.
Agribank also channels capital into major projects and key national projects with wide-reaching impact. Specifically, Agribank acts as the lead arranger for more than VND 25.453 trillion in financing for the Ring Road 4 – Hanoi Capital Region project.
Vietcombank and Agribank have also signed a credit facility agreement for the project to expand the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh expressway section. Projects to expand international airport terminals and deep-water port systems, including Lach Huyen and Cai Mep – Thi Vai, have also received Agribank’s support, helping Vietnam strengthen its logistics capacity and international integration.
Over nearly four decades of establishment and development, Agribank has not only affirmed its key role in supporting agriculture, farmers and rural areas, but has also strengthened its brand through its commitment to social welfare.
In particular, Agribank serves as an “extended arm” of the Government and the State Bank of Vietnam in channelling capital into production and business sectors, contributing to sustainable development objectives. Agribank’s financing not only provides impetus to businesses, household businesses and individuals, but also serves as a “pillar of support”, enabling Vietnamese businesses to realise their ambition to expand into broader markets.
