On October 22, 2025, Agribank was honored by Visa with the “Leadership Award – Contactless CAID Penetration Growth 2025,” recognizing the bank’s remarkable progress in expanding its contactless payment acceptance network and advancing digital payments in Vietnam.

From the perspective of a strategic partner, Visa – a leading global payment technology company celebrating its 30th anniversary in Vietnam – acknowledged Agribank’s commitment to innovation, connectivity, and sustainable development. With an extensive branch network and a pivotal role in the agricultural and rural sectors, Agribank has worked alongside Visa to bring modern payment technologies closer to the people, especially in remote and rural areas.

Over the years, Agribank has achieved significant milestones: it was among the first banks to convert magnetic stripe cards to EMV chip cards in 2014, to implement contactless payment technology across its entire acceptance network in 2018, and to launch Agribank Visa contactless chip cards in 2019.

The 2025 Leadership Award highlights Agribank’s outstanding achievements in building a comprehensive digital payment ecosystem, expanding its network of card, QR, and mobile POS acceptance points, promoting cashless transactions, and applying advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to enhance transaction security and fraud detection.
