Agribank participates as a Gold sponsor in the “Hanoi Convention” – building a safe and secure cyberspace
24/10/2025
Agribank participated as a Gold Sponsor in the Signing Ceremony of the United Nations Convention Against Cybercrime (also known as the “Hanoi Convention”), held from October 25–26, 2025, at the National Convention Center in Hanoi.
This major international event demonstrates Vietnam’s commitment to multilateral cooperation in cybersecurity and to building a trustworthy and transparent digital environment.
Regarded as the first global criminal justice treaty in more than 20 years, the Hanoi Convention establishes an international legal framework for combating cybercrime, sharing electronic evidence, facilitating cross-border investigations, and assisting countries with limited cybersecurity capacity.
The event was prepared on a large scale, with more than 100 national delegations and international organizations having confirmed their participation as of early October 2025, featuring eight discussion sessions, 32 specialized workshops, and over 20 international exhibition booths showcasing innovations in technology, digital transformation, and cybercrime prevention.
As a Gold Sponsor, Agribank contributes to the success of this important milestone in diplomacy and cybersecurity, reaffirming its strong commitment to customer protection and digital safety. In an era of increasingly digitalized banking and payment services, Agribank prioritizes data privacy, information security, and transaction safety across all digital platforms — from eBanking to Mobile Banking.
In 2024, Agribank identified and handled hundreds of cyber-attacks, blocked over 100 phishing websites, assisted hundreds of customers affected by online fraud, and conducted tens of millions of security scans to safeguard its systems. In 2025, the bank continues to invest in modernizing IT infrastructure, implementing its IT Development Strategy and Digital Transformation Plan through 2025 with a Vision to 2030, focusing on authentication, data protection, anti-intrusion measures, and secure system access.
Agribank also regularly advises customers to remain cautious in online transactions — verifying official websites and fanpages, refraining from sharing OTPs, passwords, or personal information, and conducting transactions only through Agribank’s official channels. Security advisories are communicated through more than 2,000 transaction points nationwide.
By participating as a Gold Sponsor in the Hanoi Convention under the theme “Countering Cybercrime – Shared Responsibility – Towards the Future,” Agribank reaffirms that its participation contributes to promoting collaboration and shared responsibility among nations, organizations, and between banks, customers, and communities in ensuring a safer cyberspace.
Agribank remains committed to its pioneering role in building a prosperous and sustainable digital future for Vietnam and the international community.
