Agribank receives 'Special Recognition Award' from Wells Fargo for the second consecutive year
25/03/2026
On the morning of March 25, 2026, Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) was awarded the "Special Recognition Award" by Wells Fargo for the 2024-2025 period, in recognition of its outstanding achievements in international payments in USD. Notably, this marks the second consecutive year that Agribank has received this award from Wells Fargo, further reinforcing its reputation and stable operational quality in the global payment system.
According to Wells Fargo's evaluation, Agribank has maintained a Straight Through Processing (STP) rate of 99%, significantly exceeding the average rate in the Vietnamese market, which is currently around 97%. This discrepancy demonstrates the high level of standardization in Agribank’s data and transaction processing procedures, ensuring that transactions are executed quickly and accurately, with minimal need for corrections, investigations, or manual interventions.
In addition to operational efficiency, transaction security remains a key highlight. In the context of rising fraud-related transactions, especially cross-border payments in Vietnam, Wells Fargo has recognized that no fraudulent transactions have occurred through Agribank’s payment system. This outcome reflects the effectiveness of Agribank’s internal control system, rigorous KYC/AML processes, as well as its ability to identify and prevent risks at the frontline.
A key factor behind this success is the operational model tied to its extensive branch network. Although not a centralized model, Agribank ensures high-quality transaction processing thanks to its staff’s deep understanding of customers, proactive risk screening, and control at each branch. In practice, holding branches directly accountable for customer information quality has proven effective in supporting anti-fraud efforts and compliance.
This award comes at a time when Vietnam's international payment market is experiencing rapid growth, with an increase in transaction volume and rising demands for quality, speed, and security. In this environment, maintaining an outstanding STP rate while effectively controlling fraud risks serves as a clear testament to Agribank’s sustainable operational capabilities.
Moving forward, Agribank will continue to collaborate closely with international partners, including Wells Fargo, to implement new technological solutions that enhance automation, optimize customer experience, and uphold the highest standards of security and compliance in international payments.
Receiving the “Special Recognition Award” for two consecutive years not only acknowledges Agribank’s past achievements but also reinforces its position in the international payments sector, advancing its goal of modern, stable growth and stronger integration into the global financial market.
