18/06/2025

Agribank’s continued presence in the 2025 Fortune Southeast Asia 500 once again affirms its credibility and stature. Agribank is currently one of Vietnam’s leading state-owned commercial banks, playing a key role in the country’s financial and banking system.

The renowned Fortune magazine recently unveiled its 2025 list of the Top 500 Largest Enterprises in Southeast Asia, based on revenue figures from the 2024 fiscal year. This marks the second consecutive year the ranking has been published. Vietnam proudly contributes 76 enterprises to the list—an increase of six compared to the previous year.

Notably, the top 20 Vietnamese companies with the highest revenues generated a total of USD 110.2 billion, accounting for 68% of the combined revenue of all Vietnamese firms featured. Among them, the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) once again ranks among the Top 100 largest enterprises in Southeast Asia, underscoring its pioneering position in Vietnam’s financial landscape.

Standing alongside regional giants in this prestigious ranking is a testament to Agribank’s stature, influence, and strategic growth. With a legacy of over 37 years, Agribank is the largest wholly state-owned commercial bank in Vietnam, playing a central role in implementing monetary policies, advancing agricultural and rural economic development, and ensuring social security.

Agribank operates an extensive nationwide network of more than 2,200 branches and transaction offices, with total assets exceeding VND 2.2 quadrillion. Particularly noteworthy is that over 65% of its outstanding loans support the “Tam nông” sector—agriculture, rural areas, and farmers—demonstrating not only Agribank’s scale but also its mission-driven contribution to national growth and community development.

Being recognized by Fortune further affirms Agribank’s crucial role in Vietnam’s regional economic integration journey, where Vietnamese enterprises are increasingly asserting their brand identity and presence on the global stage. With robust financial capacity, an expansive network, and strategic transformation in governance, technology, and services, Agribank continues to rise alongside Southeast Asia’s most prominent names.

The Fortune ranking reflects not only Agribank’s impressive revenue scale but also its sustainable development strategies and modernization efforts. In recent years, Agribank has taken the lead in comprehensive digital transformation, launching a range of digital banking products such as Agribank Plus and Agribank Digital. In parallel, Agribank actively promotes ESG practices (Environmental, Social, and Governance) through green credit programs, high-tech agricultural lending, and support for SMEs in remote areas. Agribank is also a pioneer in implementing sustainable finance policies aligned with Vietnam’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Agribank’s strong financial foundation, digitalization strategy, and unwavering support for the agricultural sector have forged a unique identity—one that has earned recognition not only domestically but also regionally, contributing to the growing prestige of Vietnamese brands in Southeast Asia.

As it enters a new phase of development, Agribank reaffirms its role as a cornerstone of Vietnam’s banking system—constantly innovating, integrating, and advancing toward sustainable growth. International recognition from organizations like Fortune serves as a powerful motivator for Agribank to reach even greater heights on its journey to building a prosperous Vietnam and a dynamic, cohesive, and comprehensively developed Southeast Asia.
