Agribank and Helvetas Vietnam signed a Cooperation Agreement on April 21, 2026, at Agribank's headquarters in Hanoi, aimed at strengthening collaboration in technical assistance, green finance, sustainable agriculture, and the circular economy.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior leadership representatives from both organizations. From Agribank, Deputy General Director Mr. Đoàn Ngọc Lưu, along with leaders of relevant departments, were present. From Helvetas Vietnam, the Country Director Mr. Phạm Văn Lương, alongside experts and staff of the organization, also participated.

In his remarks, Mr. Đoàn Ngọc Lưu, Deputy General Director of Agribank, emphasized, as the leading commercial bank in the "three rural" sectors, Agribank has always focused on promoting sustainable development activities, gradually integrating environmental and social factors into its business operations. Furthermore, Agribank has actively expanded international cooperation to enhance its capabilities and access technical assistance resources. Strengthening the cooperation between Agribank and Helvetas Vietnam is a meaningful step forward, leveraging each party’s strengths to promote green finance and sustainable development in agriculture, thus contributing to Vietnam’s socio-economic growth.

On behalf of Helvetas Vietnam, Mr. Phạm Văn Lương, Country Director, expressed confidence that the cooperation with Agribank will create a strong foundation for both parties to capitalize on their respective strengths, enhance connections, and contribute positively to sustainable development goals in Vietnam.

Helvetas is a non-governmental organization established in 1955, with headquarters in Switzerland and Germany, and is one of Europe’s leading development organizations. It operates in many countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe, focusing on supporting communities, especially vulnerable groups, to improve livelihoods and promote sustainable development. Helvetas has been present in Vietnam since 1994, implementing programs in areas such as agriculture, forestry, local governance, environment, and circular economy, with a focus on promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth and climate change adaptation.

With its experience and expertise in technical support and sustainable development, Helvetas Vietnam is expected to be an important partner for Agribank in enhancing capabilities, strengthening connections, and promoting sustainable development values. Through this cooperation, Helvetas Vietnam will share international expertise, help build capacity for staff, and work alongside Agribank in researching and developing green financial solutions and products that are practical for Vietnam, contributing to improving operational effectiveness and achieving long-term sustainable development goals.
