Agribank strengthening data connectivity to support the development of Vietnam’s national data infrastructure
23/02/2026
Amid the strong momentum of national digital transformation, data is increasingly recognized as a strategic resource for governance, service development, and improving the quality of customer services. Aware of this important role, Agribank has been actively implementing various solutions to connect, share, and effectively leverage data in a synchronized and secure manner, thereby accompanying the Government in building the national data platform to support the development of the digital economy and digital society.
Agribank identifies data not only as an input for governance but also as a critical foundation for building a modern digital banking model. Mastering, standardizing, and effectively utilizing data enables the bank to innovate its operational methods, enhance risk management capacity, ensure system safety, and improve service quality for individuals and businesses, particularly in agriculture and rural areas – sectors where Agribank plays a leading role.
On this basis, Agribank continues to expand cooperation with ministries, sectors, local authorities, and technology partners to promote inter-sectoral data connectivity and sharing. Data connection and utilization help standardize operational processes, enhance transparency in financial and banking activities, and facilitate the development of digital services based on automation with a customer-centric approach.
One important step forward is Agribank’s connection to and utilization of data from the national electronic identification platform VNeID. Through this platform, the bank can access verified customer data, providing an important foundation for the implementation of comprehensive digital banking models. Based on cleaned and verified data, Agribank is gradually applying advanced technologies such as Big Data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) to better understand customer needs and design products and services tailored to different customer segments.
In addition, Agribank is strengthening data connectivity with state management agencies, notably through cooperation with the General Department of Taxation and technology partners to deploy digital transformation solutions for household businesses and small enterprises. These solutions enable data connection with tax authorities, support sales management, facilitate electronic invoice issuance, and allow automatic tax data transmission, thereby enhancing transparency, optimizing operational costs, and improving management efficiency for businesses.
Data connectivity and interoperability also lay the groundwork for Agribank to gradually complete a comprehensive digital banking model, in which the entire process—from customer identification, account opening, and service registration to contract signing, transactions, and account management—can be conducted on digital platforms. This helps improve safety, transparency, and convenience in financial transactions while expanding access to financial services for individuals and businesses nationwide.
These efforts in data connectivity and utilization continue to affirm Agribank’s pioneering role in effectively implementing the Government’s Project 06 as well as the banking sector’s digital transformation strategy. With the orientation of taking data as the foundation, digital transformation as the driving force, and people and businesses as the center of service, Agribank is gradually contributing to the development of the national data ecosystem, promoting the growth of the digital economy and digital society, and enhancing national governance efficiency.
