Agribank strengthens security and increases vigilance against high-tech crimes

In the digital era, high-tech criminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated, making monetary security a top priority for banks. To protect customers, Agribank proactively conducts scientific research and implements comprehensive solutions to safeguard clients’ assets and personal information.

According to the 2024 report by the National Cybersecurity Association, 46.15% of organizations and enterprises in Vietnam experienced at least one cyberattack in 2024, with 6.77% facing frequent attacks. The total number of cyberattacks in the year was estimated at over 659,000 incidents. Critical sectors recorded more than 74,000 cyberattack alerts, including 83 targeted Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) campaigns.

At Agribank, in 2024, specialized units detected, prevented, and resolved 68 cases of system account information leaks; blocked 104 fraudulent websites impersonating Agribank’s brand; assisted in handling 319 cases of customers being scammed or losing money while using Agribank’s services; and monitored and analyzed 310,465 internal cyberattack events. Additionally, Agribank conducted nearly 44 million scans and simulated attacks on its Internet-exposed systems to identify and implement timely countermeasures.

In 2025, Agribank continues to focus on modernizing its IT infrastructure, dedicating significant resources to effectively implement its Information Technology Development Strategy and Digital Transformation Plan toward 2025, with a vision to 2030. The bank also prioritizes innovation in digital product and service development while striving to transform its business model. Alongside its efforts to advance high-tech products and services, Agribank emphasizes the research and deployment of synchronized solutions and cutting-edge technologies to strengthen cybersecurity and information security, including: Data encryption; Cyberattack prevention; Access and identity management and System operational security.

These measures not only prevent unauthorized intrusions but also ensure data integrity and confidentiality during transmission and storage, giving customers peace of mind when using Agribank’s services.

Agribank has built a network system that meets information security standards, with its data centers certified under ISO 27001:2022. The bank’s network and security infrastructure are designed holistically, from data centers to regional hubs and branches. Additionally, Agribank has deployed multi-layered cybersecurity solutions, including: Network security; Application security; Infrastructure security; Database security; Endpoint security; Identity and access management (IAM).

Agribank also employs intelligent cyber threat monitoring services to promptly detect and block phishing websites impersonating the bank, minimizing risks of customer fraud, data leaks, and financial losses—thereby enhancing Agribank’s reputation and brand trust.
