AgriNotify – a digital shield helping protect customers from fraud risks

16/08/2026

Alongside the rapid advancement of science and technology, fraud and impersonation schemes in the digital environment are becoming increasingly sophisticated, making them increasingly difficult to detect based on experience alone. Against this backdrop, a timely warning can serve as a necessary “pause point”, enabling customers to review information before deciding whether to proceed with a transaction.

At the press conference announcing the Banking Digital Transformation event on 11 August, Mr. Le Anh Dung, Deputy Director General of the Payment Department under the State Bank of Vietnam, said that, as of the end of July 2026, the SIMO system had issued warnings on 4.9 million customer occasions. Of these, on 1.6 million occasions, customers proactively stopped transactions suspected of involving scams, helping protect approximately VND 5.5 trillion in assets. According to the State Bank of Vietnam representative, SIMO will continue to be expanded across the banking sector to strengthen capabilities for warning, preventing and addressing risks in payment transactions.

In line with efforts to enhance safety and security in digital payments, Agribank has deployed AgriNotify, a solution that provides alerts for transactions showing signs of potential fraud or scams. The solution provides customers with additional information to review and consider before proceeding with a transaction.

As of 31 July 2026, AgriNotify had recorded more than 247,000 transaction alerts, of which more than 140,000 transactions were paused or cancelled, with a total value of more than VND 491 billion. These results demonstrate the role of technology in supporting fraud and scam prevention, as well as the effectiveness of early-warning solutions in protecting customers in the digital environment.

When a transaction shows signs of unusual activity, AgriNotify issues an alert, enabling customers to proactively review the information, consider the transaction and confirm before proceeding.

This feature is particularly useful in situations where users are urged, pressured or led by fraudsters into transferring money. A timely warning gives customers additional time to verify information, identify unusual signs and avoid making hasty decisions.

By continuing to enhance its warning solutions and apply technology to risk control, Agribank aims to strengthen its capabilities in preventing and identifying fraud and scams, contributing to a safer and more reliable digital transaction environment in which customers can act more proactively.
