On August 25, 2025, within the framework of the bilateral meeting at Governor level between the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), Agribank Cambodia Branch had the honor of welcoming the high-ranking SBV delegation led by Governor Nguyễn Thị Hồng, accompanied by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Cambodia. Agribank’s Board Member and General Director, Mr. Phạm Toàn Vượng, and Deputy General Director Ms. Phùng Thị Bình attended the bilateral meeting and hosted the delegation.

The visit demonstrates the SBV’s close attention to the operations of Vietnamese commercial banks abroad and recognizes Agribank’s contributions during more than 15 years of presence in Cambodia. Since its establishment in 2010, the Branch has consistently expanded its operations, providing a wide range of financial services to enterprises, investors, and the Vietnamese community in Cambodia, while actively engaging in social responsibility initiatives and supporting the host country’s economic development.

Speaking at the working session, Governor Nguyễn Thị Hồng commended Agribank’s role as a pillar of Vietnam’s banking sector, highlighting its contributions to agricultural and rural development, poverty reduction, and social welfare programs. The Governor instructed the Cambodia Branch to continue leveraging its strengths, enhance operational efficiency, integrate business activities with social responsibility, and further strengthen bilateral cooperation in banking between Vietnam and Cambodia.

The Ambassador of Vietnam to Cambodia also praised Agribank for its close collaboration with diplomatic agencies and its support for the Vietnamese community through infrastructure, school, and bridge construction projects, reinforcing the bond of friendship between the two nations.

In response, Agribank General Director, Mr. Phạm Toàn Vượng reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to closely overseeing the operations of the Cambodia Branch, maintaining close coordination with regulatory authorities and the Vietnamese Embassy to ensure strict compliance with both countries’ legal frameworks, protect invested capital, maintain safe and efficient operations, and contribute meaningfully to the economic development of both Vietnam and Cambodia.

As part of the bilateral talks, Agribank participated in a dialogue session between the two Governors and Vietnamese banks in Cambodia, presenting its business performance and reaffirming its commitment to long-term, sustainable cooperation in the banking sector between Vietnam and Cambodia.

The visit of the SBV Governor and the Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia underscores the support of regulatory authorities for Vietnamese commercial banks and reaffirms Agribank’s position as a pioneering regional bank that aligns business growth with corporate social responsibility, actively contributing to the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.
