Fishery production nationwide reached 6 million tons in the first 9 months of the year

Accumulated from the beginning of 2020, the total production is estimated at 6.1 million tons, an increase of 1.6% over the same period in 2019 and reaching 71.6% of the 2020 plan, of which: the output of aquatic caught of 2.9 million tons, the output of aquaculture of 3.2 million tons.

According to the report of the Directorate of Fisheries, the total aquaculture production in the third quarter is estimated at 2.3 million tons, of which the output of aquatic caught is over 1 million tons, the aquaculture output is over 1.2 million tons.

Accumulated from the beginning of 2020, the total production is estimated at 6.1 million tons, an increase of 1.6% over the same period in 2019 and reaching 71.6% of the 2020 plan, of which: the output of aquatic caught of 2.9 million tons, the output of aquaculture of 3.2 million tons.

According to the General Department of Customs, the value of seafood exports in the first half of September (from September 1 to September 15) reached USD 373.6 million. Cumulative export turnover is USD 5.6 billion, equivalent to 96% as compared to the same period in 2019, reaching 55.8% of the plan (USD 10 billion).

Regarding brackish water shrimp, the area of ​​shrimp farming to date is about 708,436 ha, (equivalent to 102% compared to the same period in 2019 and reaching 97.1% of the plan in 2020).

Production is estimated to reach 605 thousand tons in September (equivalent to 105.6% over the same period in 2019). In which, tiger shrimp reached 205 thousand tons (equal to 100.8% compared to the same period in 2019); whiteleg shrimp reached 400 thousand tons (equivalent to 108.3% over the same period in 2019).

Regarding pangasius, the new farming area is 2,160 ha, equivalent to 59.7% over the same period in 2019; The cumulative farming area is 4,968 hectares, equivalent to 91% compared to the same period in 2019. Accumulated production of pangasius in the first nine months of 2020 is estimated at over 1 million tons, equivalent to 93.6% over the same period in 2019.
