Seven months, the export value of agriculture, forestry and fishery reached over USD 22.3 billion

In which, the export value of key agricultural products, livestock and aquatic products decreased; only the export value of forestry products still grew positively at 6.7%.

According to Agro Processing and Market Development Authority (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), the export turnover of agriculture, forestry and fishery products in July is estimated at USD 3.4 billion, bringing the total export value in the first seven months of 2020 to USD 22.31 billion, down 2.8% over the same period in 2019.

In which, the export value of main agricultural products is estimated at USD 10.37 billion, a decrease of 4%; livestock export value is estimated at USD 213 million, a decrease of nearly 25%; seafood export value is estimated at USD 4.38 billion, a decrease of 6.4%; only the export value of main forestry products is estimated at USD 6.5 billion, an increase of 6.7%.

In terms of market structure, the total value of Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery exports in the first seven months of 2020 to Asian markets (accounting for 54.4% of the market share) is estimated at USD 12.02 billion, a decrease of 8% over the same period in 2019.

Similarly, Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery exports to Europe and Oceania regions in the first seven months of 2020 are estimated at USD 2.93 billion, a decrease of 5.4% over the same period in 2019 and USD 330 million, a decrease of 8.6%.

In contrast, Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery exports to the Americas and Africa are estimated at USD 5.59 billion and USD 484 million respectively, an increase of 5.2% and more than 2% over the same period in 2019.

The import value of agriculture, forestry and fishery in July is estimated at USD 2.68 billion, bringing the total import value in the first 7 months of 2020 to USD 17.16 billion, a decrease of 4.6% over the same period in 2019. In which, the import value of main agricultural, forestry and aquatic products is estimated at USD 13.92 billion, a decrease of more than 6% compared to the same period in 2019.

The total value of Vietnam's imports of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the first seven months of 2020 from Asian markets (accounting for 32.7% market share) is estimated at USD 5.61 billion, a decrease of more than 14% compared to the same period in 2019.

Similarly, Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery imports in the past 7 months from the Americas are estimated to decrease by 2%, reaching USD 4.98 billion; for the African region, it is estimated to decrease by 32.9%, reaching USD 575 million and the Oceania is estimated to decrease by 4.8%, reaching USD 566 million.

Meanwhile, it is estimated that Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery imports to Europe in the first 7 months of 2020 would increase by 4.5% over the same period in 2019, reaching USD 990 million.
