Agribank ranks among Southeast Asia’s 50 largest companies for the third consecutive year in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500

16/06/2026

According to the 2026 Fortune Southeast Asia 500 ranking recently released by Fortune magazine, Agribank has retained 45th place among the region’s 500 largest companies. This marks the third consecutive year that Agribank has ranked among the top 50, reaffirming its scale of operations, financial strength and firmly established position as a key state-owned commercial bank in Southeast Asia’s corporate landscape.

The 2026 Fortune Southeast Asia 500 is the third edition of the ranking compiled by Fortune, based on companies’ revenue for the 2025 financial year. The ranking features the largest companies from seven Southeast Asian countries: Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines and Cambodia.

According to Fortune, the 500 companies included in this year’s ranking generated combined revenue of USD 1.88 trillion, up 3.4% from the previous edition, and total profits of USD 150 billion. The minimum revenue threshold for inclusion increased by 26% to USD 440.6 million, reflecting the growing scale and competitiveness of the regional business community.

A total of 72 Vietnamese companies are included in the ranking, with combined revenue of nearly USD 177.9 billion, up 10.5% year on year—around three times the revenue growth rate of the ranking as a whole. Although Vietnamese companies account for less than 10% of the Fortune Southeast Asia 500’s total revenue, they contributed around one-quarter of the ranking’s overall revenue increase this year, underscoring Vietnam’s increasingly prominent role in the regional economy.

Maintaining 45th place in the regional ranking

In the 2026 Fortune Southeast Asia 500 ranking, Agribank ranks 45th regionally and is the second-highest-ranked Vietnamese bank. This is also the second consecutive year that Agribank has retained 45th place, despite increases in both corporate revenues and the minimum revenue threshold for inclusion in the ranking.

According to figures released by Fortune, Agribank recorded revenue of approximately USD 7.1 billion for the 2025 financial year, up 6.7% from the previous year, while profit reached nearly USD 954 million, an increase of 8.9%. These results show that Agribank has not only maintained its substantial scale of operations but has also continued to improve business efficiency amid ongoing volatility in the global and regional economies.

In the inaugural 2024 ranking, Agribank placed 37th in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500. Agribank ranked 45th in 2025 and has retained that position in 2026. Agribank has therefore ranked among the top 50 in all three editions since the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 was first published.

Maintaining a high position in a region-wide corporate ranking continues to affirm Agribank’s reputation, stature and competitiveness, while contributing to the enhanced standing of Vietnamese enterprises in the process of international economic integration.

A strong financial foundation underpinning Agribank’s role as a key state-owned commercial bank

Entering 2026 with a strong financial foundation built over 38 years of development, Agribank continues to maintain positive growth momentum and affirm its position as one of Vietnam’s largest financial institutions.

As of 31 May 2026, Agribank’s total assets exceeded VND 2.7 quadrillion, total funds mobilised surpassed VND 2.5 quadrillion and outstanding loans exceeded VND 2 quadrillion. Credit continues to be channelled towards production and business activities, priority economic sectors, and agriculture and rural areas, contributing to economic growth and social welfare.

Alongside the expansion of its operations, Agribank continues to manage credit quality effectively and maintain a low non-performing loan ratio. These results reflect Agribank’s continually improving risk management capabilities, stable financial foundation and strong resilience to market volatility.

With its financial strength continuing to grow, Agribank continues to fulfil its role as a key state-owned commercial bank, actively implementing monetary policy, providing capital to the economy, and supporting individuals and businesses in recovering and expanding their production and business activities.

In particular, Agribank continues to prioritise capital for agriculture, farmers and rural areas. Through these efforts, Agribank reaffirms its leading role in channelling capital to these sectors and supporting household producers, cooperatives and businesses in expanding production, adopting technology, increasing the value of agricultural products and advancing new-style rural development.

Agribank has also actively implemented key credit programmes supporting clean and high-tech agriculture; credit programmes for the forestry and fisheries sectors; and lending for agricultural production, processing and distribution chains. Agribank also participates in providing capital for infrastructure and energy projects, as well as key national projects.

With an extensive nationwide network of branches and transaction offices, Agribank has a distinct advantage in delivering capital and modern financial and banking services to individuals and businesses in urban and rural areas, remote regions, border areas and islands.

Digital transformation aligned with green growth and sustainable development

Alongside strengthening its financial capacity, Agribank continues to accelerate digital transformation, innovate its governance model, modernise technology and diversify its products and services to more fully meet the needs of individual customers, businesses and financial institutions.

Digital banking platforms such as Agribank Plus and Agribank Corporate, together with Agribank’s ecosystem of digital products and services, continue to be enhanced, helping to improve the customer experience, broaden access to financial services and promote cashless payments.

Alongside digital transformation, Agribank has identified ESG practices and the greening of capital flows as key priorities in its long-term development strategy. Agribank is gradually integrating environmental and social risk management requirements into its credit-granting activities and prioritising funding for projects in green agriculture, sustainable forestry, renewable energy, clean energy, the circular economy and waste treatment.

As of the end of the third quarter of 2025, Agribank’s total outstanding green loans exceeded VND 28.3 trillion. Funding was concentrated in areas including green agriculture, sustainable forestry, renewable and clean energy, resource recycling and reuse, waste treatment, and pollution prevention and control.

Agribank has also implemented a range of large-scale credit programmes for priority sectors and green projects, including support for high-tech and clean agriculture. At the same time, Agribank has actively participated in the credit programme supporting the Project for the Sustainable Development of One Million Hectares of High-Quality, Low-Emission Rice Cultivation in the Mekong Delta.

These activities demonstrate Agribank’s commitment to working alongside the Government to promote green growth, develop a circular economy, respond to climate change and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

Strengthening the standing of Vietnamese brands

Agribank’s inclusion among Southeast Asia’s 50 largest companies in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 ranking for three consecutive years represents objective recognition of Agribank’s scale, operational efficiency and development capacity. This achievement is all the more significant as Agribank continues to maintain positive growth momentum in the opening months of 2026.

Fortune’s recognition also provides further impetus for Agribank to continue enhancing its governance capabilities, strengthening risk management, accelerating innovation, developing digital banking, promoting green finance and continuously improving the quality of customer service.

Building on 38 years of supporting the country’s development, Agribank continues to affirm its role as a key state-owned commercial bank, taking the lead in implementing monetary policy, channelling capital to the economy and serving the community. Agribank is working towards safe, efficient, modern and sustainable development, thereby contributing to the enhanced standing of Vietnamese brands regionally and internationally.
