2025 marks a significant milestone in Vietnam’s financial and banking modernization strategy and represents a pivotal year in which Agribank recorded a comprehensive breakthrough in digital transformation. In line with the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW by the Government and the State Bank of Vietnam on advancing science and technology, Agribank has identified technology as a core operational foundation across all business activities and has focused on deploying digital transformation initiatives in a coordinated, practical, and system-wide manner.

This strategic direction was established under Decision No. 620/QĐ-HĐTV-NHS on Agribank’s Digital Transformation Plan through 2025, with a vision toward 2030, providing a unified foundation for all programs and operational activities—from human resource development to real-world technology application. Agribank has organized numerous training programs to enhance digital knowledge and skills for its workforce, including courses on artificial intelligence applications, customer service in the digital environment, information technology competencies, and specialized programs for senior management. These initiatives aim to foster a digital culture and strengthen technological capability throughout the system.

A major highlight in 2025 was the implementation of the “Digital Literacy for All” initiative, aimed at popularizing digital knowledge and skills within the community, particularly in rural, remote, and underserved areas. Rather than focusing solely on urban markets, Agribank expanded more than 60 mobile banking service points to bring banking services—especially digital banking—closer to farmers and residents in areas with limited access to technology. Through communication activities and guidance on the safe use of digital services and risk prevention, the program has contributed to spreading digital skills and advancing financial inclusion nationwide.

In 2025, Agribank continued to integrate with the National Population Database and the VNeID platform, standardizing data for more than 10.2 million individual customers and 143,693 institutional customers. Agribank also developed electronic identification and authentication features such as account opening via VNeID, linkage for social security payments, and pilot implementation of a centralized digital signature portal. These solutions help optimize service delivery, enhance customer experience, and strengthen transaction security in the digital environment.

Through its decisive and extensive digital transformation strategy, Agribank has made a meaningful contribution to the growth of digital finance in Vietnam, helping raise the proportion of adults with bank accounts to nearly 87 percent by the end of 2025. Process automation has also enabled Agribank to optimize operational costs, thereby creating additional resources to deploy preferential credit packages to support businesses, particularly in the context of post-pandemic economic recovery.

Agribank has been recognized as one of the pioneering financial institutions in applying advanced technology, serving as a representative model of digital transformation within the banking sector, contributing to narrowing the digital gap between urban and rural areas, and laying a sustainable foundation for Vietnam’s digital economy in the years ahead.
