Alongside its business operations, Agribank has consistently regarded social responsibility as an integral part of its sustainable development strategy. For Agribank, operational effectiveness is assessed not only through business results but also through the tangible value it delivers to communities and society.

For many years, Agribank has been one of the state-owned enterprises devoting substantial resources to social welfare. Agribank has allocated trillions of Vietnamese dong to the construction of schools, health stations, gratitude houses, Great Unity houses and community infrastructure, as well as to supporting people living in poverty, families eligible for social policies, disadvantaged students, residents of remote and far-flung areas, ethnic minority communities, and localities affected by natural disasters and disease outbreaks.

During the 2020–2025 period, Agribank allocated more than VND 2.75 trillion to social welfare activities nationwide. In 2025 alone, Agribank allocated nearly VND 700 billion to social welfare initiatives, focusing on education, healthcare, sustainable poverty reduction, disaster recovery and support for policy beneficiaries.

Each completed project not only helps improve people’s learning, healthcare and living conditions but also lays a foundation for the community’s long-term development. A new school creates learning opportunities for children in disadvantaged areas; a well-built health station helps improve the quality of healthcare; and a bridge, road or clean-water facility creates favourable conditions for production, improves living standards and narrows development gaps between regions.

In particular, as climate change and natural disasters become increasingly severe, Agribank has consistently been among the pioneering state-owned enterprises working alongside communities to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, restore production and stabilise their lives.

From restructuring repayment schedules, waiving or reducing loan interest and continuing to provide financing for production recovery, to implementing social welfare support programmes in affected localities, Agribank has clearly demonstrated the responsibility of a state-owned commercial bank towards the community, helping strengthen the resilience of the economy and safeguard social welfare under all circumstances.

These activities not only reflect Agribank’s responsibility towards society but also help advance humanitarian values, strengthen public trust in the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State, and affirm the role of state-owned enterprises in linking economic development with social progress and equity.
